windows update

Took my computer to a technician as it wouldn't download windows updates for several months . Turned out it had a few viruses and the guy sorted the problems and told me to be sure to download the updates. will do, says I.

Switched on this morning at 6.50 and an 80 mb file is there ready for download. Two hours and twenty minutes later and it's on 38% complete. Should be finished around 1 pm at this rate.
I'm on dial up and people in the house , you know who, will be very displeased if the phone is out of action all morning. Seems like I am using my 180hr flat rate package just to download security updates.Not really much point owning a computer in rural Ireland.

Sounds like a service pack, you can order service packs on dvd directly from microsoft if you are still on dial up
