Second Chance?? Would you??

    Hi there,

I'd like to think that I'd be human enough to give someone a second chance, but I wonder if that makes me a foolish woman?

About six months ago - I got to know a nice fella and we spent a good time talking and had a magical couple of dates and then I heard not a blessed word from him again. I was disgusted at how he treated me - but life is short - so didn't dwell on it too much.

Last week - I get an email from him - telling me I've been on his mind a lot lately. A full apology and explaination ensued. The explaination in a nutshell was that he got afraid and ran.

Now to where? Would anyone take a chance and get involved again? Or would I be wise to make a quick exit stage left??

    Any guidance appreciated.

Did you come on strong the last time?

Its just that you described the dates as magical which to me sounds like you you were more than a little smitten. It is possible you came on too hot and heavy and freaked him out,you know?

By all means dont write it off yet.In case you hadnt realised it,men can be a bit,how can I put this delicately, dumb, when it comes to our feelings.

Sometimes we do get scared,we do run,its just how we are.

Meet up with him again, have a coffee and see what happens.Just dont invest yourself too heavily at the start.

    Hi there,
    Thanks for the response.

Guaranteed I didn't come on too strong. The "magical" bit was how he described the dated in his apology.

I had forgotten to be honest - but when he reminded me - they were good times.

I just don't know if this is even semi-normal behaviour for a man...

it's normal to run, not so normal to apologise for genuine reasons. More likely to apologise when you want something, and normally that something is sex.

look my advice would be - did you miss him when he wasn't around? If so, then give it another shot, but don't sleep with him for a while until you're sure of him. If he's on the level, he'll be so happy to get another chance he won't pressure you. If he does pressure you, you'll know it was a booty call.

And by the way, there's nothing wrong with meeting up and shagging him and then never seeing him again, if that's what you want. It just sounds like you don't want to get played, and that's fair enough based on what's happened.
