HIM in march/IM70.3 California?

    Hi Folks,

I'm on the lookout for a HIM distance event in March/April 2010 to fit in with my plans for next year. I haven't come across anything local that early in the season and am vaguely considering the M-doted HIM in california (have some friends out there, and might be able to get relocated for a few weeks to my companies office in san francisco). Anyone any suggestions for other (more local!) events, or heard anything good/bad about the californian 70.3? Seems a bit extreme to travel that far for a race... even if it were turned into a holiday (of sorts).

    Cheers!

    Have a look at www.trimapper.com
Though, not much about 2010 races yet.

Unfortunately, you will be struggling to get any HIM/IM close to home at that time of the year.

Lisbon HIM is on on April 24th 2010. Registration opens tomorrow. I signed up for it last year but had to pull out due to a death of my mother-in-law. I know a fair few Irish people go over and it is meant to be a good couse and a bit of fun as well. Not too sure if I will add it to my schedule next year as I am toying with the idea of the Connemarathon ultra in March.

Without wanted to be pedantic, Lisbon link above is not HIM distance. The distances are 1km swim, 100km cycle, 10km run, hence Lisboa111.
In fact, all these TriStar races are a mixed of distance. Why not?

Sorry, last year it was a HIM, I did get an email saying that TriStar were taking over the event but didn't realise it meant changing the distances. It could still be a nice spring event to go to.
