    Hello,

Does any one know if they are taking on Postgrads in Primary Teaching at Mary Immaculate college limerick??????

I am interested in being a Primary School Teacher. The only turn off is that too many people are going for it and will there be any job for me in the end? So I have my degree and I have honours Irish in the Leaving Cert.

What should I do to prepare myself????:confused:

Hi Rainbow10 and welcome to boards.ie.

The default font is fine so there is no need to change to navy italics next time you post.

    Thank you. :)

Hiya first of all no one is certain that it will go through.

Is this what you really want to do? Then go for it! You never know if there will be jobs or not and if it is the career you want then you just have to take the plunge.

To prepare yourself there are three main areas you need prepare yourself for the interview:
    1. Community involvement
    2. Experience with kids (like a weeks observation)
    3. Skills like sports and music

You should also consider Hibernia as an option it is a great college apparently. They accept applcations all year round. Dn't worry about jobs, concentrate on getting the qualification and then worry about the jobs if this is definitely the career you want!

Best of luck and feel free to pm me if you need more info. Also check out educationposts.ie they have an excellent message board.
