    Majyuuou is an excellent castlevania type game for the SNES that is well worth playing. It was only ever released in japan but there is an english translation so you can understand the story. You start out as a normal joe soap with a semi automatic pistol as your weapon but as you defeat levels you have a chance to change into 3 different types of demons each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The ending you get also depends on the demon forms you choose. You can use your normal attacks or charge up for a more powerful attack and you also have a dash move activated by pressing down and jump that is very useful for boss battles.

    The big difference between this game and most other snes games is it's mature artstyle. It's very shin megami tensei and there's a lot of gore and demonic imagery. Some of the sprite art and backgrounds are absolutely gorgeous even if they can be a bit small. You can also eat some of the enemies by pressing down near certain dead enemies to regain health. The game actually has a decent little story with quite a creepy ending, even the true ending is weird.

    Anyway the game is loads of fun. It controls really well and looks gorgeous. It's a little short and quite easy and the music is a bit too jolly for the demonic setting.
