buckle fixing?

    hi,

    so my flatmate took my bike out when he was drunk and cycled it into a wall, resulting in a big buckle in the front wheel. It can still be cycled but it makes for quite a wobbly ride!

    Does anyone know where is good for getting a buckle fixed? Or am I better off just buying a new wheel?

    get him to buy you a new wheel. and get the the bike shop to check over the front fork too. and charge him for that as well. it might teach him to respect other peoples property.

    the bike shop can tell you if it's fixeable. If it's too buckled they'll tell you. And yeah, get them to check the fork as well.

    How much would a new wheel cost? Nothing special, its off a hybrid.... (as you can tell im not to well up on the world of cycling!)

    €40-50 probably. Buckle fixing would be a lot less if it is possible. Cycling into a wall though has a good probability of causing a buckle that is not repairable (e.g. an up-down one rather than a side-to-side.) LBS will advise on what is possible.
