Hmmm, never played a Champ Man game before.
    2.50 + 0.01 doesn't seem like a bad price to me!

(Ps: Just kidding, I'll make it a euro!)

Haven't played Champ Man since SIGAMES went the FM route.
    Worth playing?

Don't think so, Football Manager is the better game.

FM is better, but FM 2010 is not out till the end of October, this could be a decent stopgap...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭d31b0y

That and Championship Manager wasn't released last year in order to work on this years version, so it has gone through a pretty big overhaul.

For those of you who aren't sure, you can download the demo from here.

Haven't gotten into a football manager game since that one of the commodore 64.
Can't remember the game, there was a guy with a beard(the developer) on the box.

    Will google and report back.

ah, Football Manager was the name, and beardo was Kevin Toms.(nice calculator watch, Kevin!)

Foootball Manager is where its at! Stay away from this....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,091 ✭✭✭carbsy

Yeah, SI Games bought the rights from Kevin Toms IIRC.

If nothing else they should be applauded for such an innovative idea. I'll put a quid or two in for it and try the game but I'm still a biased FM fan.

They got the actual game engine, Eidos throught it would be better to hold onto the name AFAIK.

They were of course wrong, it would seem but the fact that they are willing to sell their game this way at all is clearly a great step forward. It's a very good way to get people to buy instead of getting there hands on the game in an illegal manner...

Well I'm getting it. Virtually paying nothing and it's out a month and ahalf before FM so time to waste. Yes please.

I've played the demo, its not bad at all, improvement over the last few years. for 2.50 its a great bargain. football manage is obviously the better game but for 2.50 who's complaining.

It's a pity some of them wouldn't follow Ultimate Soccer Manager's example from waaay back where you could bet on your own team to lose and throw bungs if you so wished, until you got caught and fired that is!

Great offer for the game, will be downloading the demo tomorrow

Surely your going to pay at least few squids (€5 even) on top of the €2.50? This model won't succeed otherwise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 739 ✭✭✭Feidhlim

You can sign up for live updates for £5.

I assume thats transfers and what not. Decided to go for it.

    Seriously, £7.50 altogether. Nice.

If in doubt, just pay the £2.50. Seriously nice find.

if at most this game will last a month until fm10 comes out:D
£2.50 is a small price to pay to cure boredom for a month.

me and my flatmate did this, downloading it now, what are our options for playing against each other?

can we play online or through a network?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,329 ✭✭✭wcarey1975

Have downloaded it onto my first laptop and am currently downloading it to my second. Will hang on to the third one for the foreseeable and will start it tomorrow night once I'm back on nights and everything is quiet. Anyway looks good so far. 2nd download is at 97% and it's approx 1.2GB so depending on your connection will take a bit of time. First one was about 2-3 Hours but I was downloading FIFA 10 for PS3 at the same time which is also 1GB.
