Taz joined Mike Tenay as the new color commentator for Impact at tonight's TV Taping. I am told Don West received a promotion and has moved upwards within the company's merchandising end.

This truely is a sad day for TNA. I, personally, actually liked West and his work as a heel was fantastic. RIP to Don West's commentary career.:(

Good luck to Westy in his new position he will be missed from commentary. I've been to the impact zone several times and he has a great connection with the fans. I will miss all those OH MY GOD moments. I think Taz will do ok but I have no real interest in him I think TNA signing all these Ex WWE guys is the Wrong move especially when you see the impact its having on their original mid card guys and its making the tag and X division less significant and these were the two main divisions I always followed. Having said that I am looking forward to Kennedy coming in I think he has a lot more to offer than Taz or foley or Lashley

I give West credit, he was absolutely horrendous whe he started out, but he worked hard and as MF says his heel stuff was pretty decent. But Taz is a step up in quality in fairness, it'll be interesteing to see how good he is withput Vince in his ear telling him what to say all the time as well.

I was never a big fan of Taz on colour commentary. He's not bad, but he's certainly not great either. Certainly on smackdown he was outclassed by both JBL and Mick Foley.

It will be interesting to see how he does without Vince roaring into his ears.

So what happens to the Joe/Taz storyline now Taz is doing this???????

I enjoyed Don West doing commentary :(

Taz is definitely a step up in quality but Don West was hilarious. His reactions were fantastic and the man's sound volume only went from 10-11. They should make him manage something

Never liked him. Bit better as a heel but still bad. Chet Lemon was far superior.

Anyone ever see him in his previous job doing infomercials on US latenight TV? He use to try and sell used baseball cards or something equally bizarre and did it with all the enthusiasm he brought to the commentary booth.

    Edit: Found them!
