Bought a new Studio 15 laptop in Mid June from Dell but have had problems more or less from day 1.

Two issues, firstly when I type a word I find it leaves a letter out of what I'm typing.

Secondly the zoom level has a habbit of changing by itself. I have contacted Dell Technical help maybe 6 or 7 times over the last two months, they nomally take control of my laptop and download something stating it will solve my problem but doesn't.

I did have someone come up who replaced the keyboard and motherboard but it did not resolve the issue. I have had Dell techncal help restore my laptop to factory settings and stil no luck, today I spent nearly two hours on the phone to them  and still it was not resolved, managed to get through to a team leader tonight who said he would reinstall something(I'm sure its probably already been done) but would take an hour to do, which I didnt have the time to wait tonight so he is calling me back on Tuesday together with customer service dept.

He even suggested that it might be a software issue and that I would have to pay!!!!!!!! How can this be right, surely if I buy a product and it does not work, Dell have a responability? Any suggestions as how to proceed.

Can you open a word document and type out random sentences and see if it's any letters in particular? Is your hand hitting off the touchpad as you type?
What do you mean by the "zoom level"?
And just to note, not using paragraphs makes the above very difficult to read...

    No letter in particular.

Zoom level, is at the bottom right hand corner of screen on my laptop, zoom level changes the size of text on a screen.

On the bottom right hand of the screen there is a an icon (near the battery meter) that says Dell Touch Pad. Open that screen and it lets you pick the scrolling and zoom settings. You can turn the zoom function off and it won't happen anymore.

Have gone into it a thing called Gesture settings located on Dell toch pad icon, gives the following options

    Enable which is ticked

    Enable one finger zoom

    Enable pinch zoom

I have unticked the options, is this what you mean? Tks
