Hi, I just collected my first 2 weeks of Jobseekers Allowance at my local Post Office today.

I was deducted €10 on each week's payment??? Anyone know what that's about?
Nothing was mentioned in my letters and the amount of €204.30 was confirmed in all correspondence from the SW, previously I was receiving cheques for the exact amount of €204.30.

Also, I wanted to know, do I have to collect my payments every week or can I collect every few weeks?

    Might be:
    • overpayment from a previous claim
    • some kind of budgeting service run by An Post
    • means-tested payment - not entitled to full amount
Must collect every week - unless you go on holidays.

Nothing was mentioned in any of the 2 letters I've received, all of which had differing incorrect collection days on.
