Hi, Considering studying acca through home study, I dont work in finance, work in industry but think an accountancy qualification would benefit my career greatly.

Problem is full time job takes up between 10 to 12 hours a day, Have a one year old baby also !

Question is ,how difficult is it to study this through self study, with job not relating to accountancy at all and also how hard is it to pass all the acca exams, How much study a week would be required to have a reasonable chance of passing

    thanks for help in advance

    Hi thechampion,

I have completed 8 of my exams through home study with BPP. I have a little one around your age and I also work full time. It takes a lot of self discipline but if you keep focussed on the end result, you'll get there.

The amount of time you study would depend on yourself, but I do aim to be ready to sit down to study as soon as little one goes to bed. And I would do 1.5 to 2 hours in the evenings, 4 evenings a week and then a Saturday morning for a few hours. Then for the final few weeks before the exams I would study any free hour I had. Housework took a back seat so the weeks after the exams would be catching up on that.

    Good luck with it all.
