Bar License - For Sports Clubs

    Hey all

Just wondering if anyone would have any relevant information as to how my Club would try and get a Bar License. I have heard in the past that Club licenses are cheaper than your normal Pub license but not sure how true that is.

Is there a specific application form that needs to filled out etc..

I have heard you apply to the courts for the license but if it was going to be very expensive there is no point really going with it etc

    Any suggestions would be helpful

I'd suggest buying Constance Cassidy's book on same. It's about 21 Euro. It's a clear plain english guide. Clarus Press are the publishers. I think club licences operate slightly differently to normal on licences etc. Then again, I am not sure. Consult the book or indeed a solicitor.

I just bought this book and there is no information regarding getting a license for a club...

You could try contacting http://www.liquorlicencetransfers.ie/ for further information. It's Ross D'arcy who owns the company.

Sports Clubs don't get pub licences, they register as a club under the Registration of Clubs Act 1904, you need to talk to a solicitor.

Edit: thread is over two years old !!
