I was reading in the paper about some girl who missed out on a place in med school as she didnt do well enough in the HPAT exam. Is this exam the same as the GAMSAT exam and do people goin into graduate medicine need to also sit the HPAT exam??

HPAT is not the same as the GAMSAT.

You dont need a HPAT for Graduate Entry Medicine just a good GAMSAT score and a 2:1 honours degree

I don't think there are any similarities between the HPAT and GAMSAT. They are both run my ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research) but the material and format are completely different.

I read that too, it was heartbreaking. She worked so hard. She said that she only did ordinary level maths and that is what let her down in the HPAT. She's young, this experience will only make her stronger and more driven. She'll definitely get in next year. Good luck to her.
