    Hi Folks.

    I'm getting married in September.

In all the rush neither myself or my girlfriend manged to sort a stag or hen.

However I managed to sort a stag for myself in the past two weeks.
My best man (my brother) is finishing college and I didn't want to burden him with the organising.

My girlfriend is in a similar scenario. (I must point out, neither the best man or brides maid are at fault here.....its a long story!!!)

Anyhoo, I'm gonna try and get somethinmg together for my BTB within the next fortnight.

What I am looking for is a really nice restaurant, something a bit different than the usual Luigi Malones (which I do like).
But I am looking for a swanky place where they can eat great grub, maybe a few cocktails.
A glamourous spot, for some glamourous ladies :pac:
    Something special. etc etc etc.

Does anyone have any ideas on a nice restaurant, close to Dublin 2 & 4 would be ideal.

By the way ...it won't be a gang of drunk young ones with penis straws, "L" plates, fairy wings, cowboy hats etc etc.....It'll be a group of about 15 - 25, very chilled people too!!

    Thanks in advance.

I enjoyed a meal in 'Dada' - a newish Moroccan restaurant on Clarendon St (I think) - they have circular couches and candles everywhere, and the waiters are lovely!

Food is gorg too .... check out the reviews on Menupages.ie

Fire on Dawson St is lovely and its huge so could easily accomodate the party. The food is really nice and as far as I know the have good cocktails too !! Its not ridiculously expensive.

    Congratulations!

Michelin starred L'Ecrivain on Lower Baggot St. is about as swanky as they come: top of the range food, top of the range service and a plush - yet homely - premises. They've different sections to the restaurant so privacy/semi-privacy is possible and they've an excellent piano man available (possibly having to hire him if he ain't working that night) if things developed into a bit of a sing-song at the end of the night.

They've also a covered sun terrace if folk fancied heading out on to that

Prices have dropped significantly from Celtic Tiger highs - so you get uber-swank @ reasonable cost. They're not up-their-arses posh neither.

I've been to several in Eden in temple bar, very nice, and you can reserve the upstairs mezzanine/balcony area (although not sure if you need min numbers for this)...
Never been to Fire but have heard great things, and location fab!
    :)
