I have a MF690 and the cab is rusting very badly (esp doors and roof) It seems to be a common complaint with the 690. I'd like to replace it if possible. Anyone know a breaker that has MF cabs?

You could try John Conaty in Kells. He definetly has 600 series tractors breaking as I got some parts for my 698T.

However I think you will find that any 600 series that finds its way to scrap heap will have a rotton cab. Not just a common problem they are all rusty unless barn stored and any that well looked after are probably still in use.

Thanks for the lead. I'll ring him. The cabs on the 600 series are very poor, every second one of them is falling apart. Its a pity as other than that its a good tractor.

I agree. My 698T is a super tractor apart from the rotten cab thats been patched together. I think they are common to Landini's of the same era.

It would be near impossable to find a half decent cab, even more hard trying to find a good one for a 600 series.

As far as i know Matt Buckley does most of the cab parts for the 600s.
I had a 698 a good few years back and the cab fell asunder i was going to do it up but i changed the tractor instead.I remember that new doors and the entire front windscreen panel from floor to roof were available but they were pricey.
Hard to find secondhand cabs for those i remember looking at a few that were worse than what i had myself. A good engineering co should be able to fold a new roof i'd say just don't bother with the roof hatch. If the tractor is sound its worth doing as you'll get nothing for it with a rotten cab.
