Just wondering if there is anyone out there who has been through IVF in HARI unit in the Rotunda? My husband and I have just started a cycle but everytime I go I see a different doctor and counsellor. Have seen 3 different doctors and 3 different counsellors so far. We are private patients and have paid a lot. Is this normal for HARI or is it the same story with SIMS etc? Should we change clincs?

Can't answer specifically for HARI or SIMS but I can tell you that the Merrion Fertility Clinic is the same .

During our testing we had the one Dr each visit but once we actually started an IVF run our Dr has changed with each visit . We were told this would be the case and it was explained to us well in advance .

I'd be concerned at the lack of communication but if you're worried why don't you talk to the clinic about your concerns ? I'm sure they can put your mind at ease .

    :) Hey,

Hope your treatment cycle is going well and that it works out for you. It can be a difficult time, so make sure you take care to mind yourself and himself! Is it your first time? If it's of help to you, the treatment itself was easier than I had feared, and the egg collection was absolutely fine as was embryo transfer (I had been terrified beforehand! :pac:)

We're also with HARI, just finished a cycle last month (unfortunately it was a bfn). At the moment we're deciding whether to stick with the clinic or move, it's a toughie! Like yourselves we were seen by different doctors, but only two counsellors, one before tx and one after. To be honest it was the nurses who saw us throughout the treatment, only saw the Doctor before we started and then on the day of embryo transfer (I was too out of it on the egg collection day to see the doctor!). Perhaps this is normal, I'm not sure, it was our first time.

My advice is to see how this treatment works - after all hopefully you will get a BFP and won't need to worry about moving at all! If you want to ask me about any of this, send me a message!

    best wishes,

    xx
