hey all,
on my way home from holland in september im meeting friends in oul gay paris for a night. im going to stay there for two or three nights on my own just to hang out.i havnt been to paris since i was a child so iv no idea where to stay. was planning on spending most of my time in montmatre.looking for a reasonably priced hotel or a decent hostel with a private room. anyone know any good deals out there or somewhere they could recommend???

We stayed in 2 lovely hotels in St Germain, smallish rooms, but very French, and clean and lots of character.

Hotel des deux continents, 26 (I think) Rue Jacob, Paris

...and in a nice part of town that 'typical' tourists would rarely consider staying in.
