Changing monitor settings on G4?

    Hi all,

    You may know me from such posts as 'blew up my ten-minute old mac'. Well the good news is I got a new G4 tower from a kind boardsie. Unfortunately the monitor now won't work with it. The mac is booting up fine and the monitor works perfectly when I hook it up to my laptop, it's just together they won't work. The monitor just stays on standby (light goes green briefly on start up then stays orange, no image at all). I've been told it may be that the monitor settings need to be changed but how do I do this if I can't get an image? How can I even tell what the monitor settings should be?

    I think I'll go back to good old reliable pen and paper...
