    Hi,
I am going to do a masters course in acccounting next year in DCU. I accepted a training contract with Deloitte at the start of last year under which they have agreed to pay the course fees, give me an allowance of 2500 euro and a book allowance of 575 euro. I have been receiving a grant for three years due to being in a lone parent family and this morning I received a letter to renew my grant. One of the terms of my contract with Deloitte states:
'Where students who are sponsored on MBS in Accounting are eligible for Higher Education Government Grants, the firm will pay a scholarship allowance of up to 1300 in lieu of the actual course fees which would otherwise have been paid by the firm.'
I rang the county council and explained that I would be receiving this from the company and she said I might still be entitled to something. She said to send in confirmation of acceptance of a postgrad course and proof that I will be receiving that money and I would then be means tested to see if I'm entitled to anymore. If I was to receive any support from the county council would this then mean that Deloitte would not pay my course fees due to that term in the contract or have I misunderstood?

Not a state benefit question. Going to move this to Student Finances - they may have more info on this.
