Bus travel time - Dublin to Arklow today

I have to get a bus from Busaras to Arklow this evening at about 1730. According to the timetable it will take 90m, but I did more or less the same drive over the weekend (coming from Donnybrook) in well under an hour. Frmo what I can see on the timetable there aren't a whole lot of stops to delay things, so I would have thought that the bus would be almost as fast as driving, especially given use of the bus lanes all the way out through Ballsbridge and the N11.

Can anyone advise whether this 90m is accurate or whether I will be there earlier (or later :( ). There is a train about the same time, but it leaves me further away in Arklow and while the bus might go faster it's safe to assume the train won't.

    Thanks,

    z

Thanks for the info. I got the 1730 yesterday and (being a little bored) took note of where we had got to every 20m.

    00 - Busaras
    20 - UCD
    40 - Kilmacanogue
    60 - Cullenmore
    80 - Arklow

A minute or two after getting off the bus in Arklow the 1745 passed by, so it was even quicker. I can see how the time taken to get to UCD could add a whole lot to the total time in bad traffic conditions, but luckily there was almost no traffic on the road yesterday.

Did the bus leave Arklow before the timetabled time?
Was your bus full or was there a bus following to run at the timetabled times.
