    I have no expearance with hp laptops


    Spec.
    vista home premium (with free windows 7 upgrade thankfully:rolleyes:)
    3gb ram
    2.1amd processor
    256bit dedicated nvidia graphics

    HP in my oppinion are the best laptop's. I have one and never had a problem them. I also sell them and rarley see them come back with a problem.

    Be aware, for a lot of the recent DV range, they don't 'support' XP officially.. so, unlikely as it is, if you ever feel the need to go and install XP, things mightn't be bug free, from the point of view of drivers. Just a heads up.

    I picked up a laptop in the DV9000 range and good grief, Vista was a steaming pile of crap on it, not a very good return on your CPU cycles. Windows 7 was a different experience, for the better, relatively speaking.
