Donations for new business?

Hi there,
I want to open a small shop in Dublin and I was wondering are there any donations I can get from state or EU supporting new businesses? Tried to Google it but couldnt find anything.

If not and I dont have the money to cover all expenses is the only option a loan from the bank?

Your regional enterprise board might help you out but I think they lean more towards businesses who's products can go international:mad:

Nope a loan is not the only option. EU leader give out grants, I can't find the Irish site. The grants are given under the following headings:

On-farm diversification into non agricultural activities
Support for business creation and development
Encouragement of tourism activities
Basic services for the economy and rural population
Village renewal and development
Conservation and upgrading of the rural heritage
Training and information
Transnational co-operation
