A relation is having an engagement party, to which I have been invited. Is it normal practice to give
a present for engagement party and if so what/how much should I give?

    any ideas?

I believe a present is appropriate for ANY party. For an engagement I would say that it should only be something small and symbolic only.

    All the best.

I think a card and a bottle of wine is plenty. We all know the wedding/hen is gonna cost a fortune anyway!!
