Skybox problems with C4, E4 and More 4

Apologies if this has already been dealt with but I couldn't find a thread.

I have a Sky+ box and am having persistent problems with C4, E4 and More 4 (and +1's). Problems include bad reception, distorted pictures and problems with recording.

Sometimes it works fine but other times it doesn't.

Is this experience limited to me or have others experienced these problems?

    Thanks

Interference from a DECT phone (or else router, microwave oven, mobile phone or mast).

If so, why aren't all channels affected? My router is sitting on top of the skybox so maybe I'll move it/switch it off if recording.

CH4, E4, More4 are on the fringe of the Astra 2D Satellite, they're on the first 2 bands of frequencies listed on the lyngsat site, 10714H and 10729V. These channels and True Movies 1 & 2, Zone Horror etc are the channels I've noticed that break the most up in a poor signal situation, re-aligning of the dish always did the trick for me, now its quite possible a router etc could interfere as the signal coming from these channels would'nt be the strongest but I would always check the dish alignment first or simply skewing the LNB to one side could solve the problem.

Not a very technical explanation I know, but I'm sure other posters can explain it more clearly than me

If this was the case everybody would be affected.

I think it's to do with a commonly used frequency on DECT phones matching those of the CH4 family. You may notice other channels affected; eg POP and Tiny Pop the kids channels. Turn the phone off and see if it makes a difference.

I had exactly the same problem and posted on here. Kindly posters pointed to the DECT being a possible cause and it was

Misalignment or DECT phones / WiFi is most likely colprut.

And yes these can effect just these Stations and a few of the lesser watched ones mentioned above.
