Its quite simple you have a choice of these players,
who would you pick in a starting 11 for this years Premiership, given their current injury status/form etc.

    Goalkeepers
Van Der Saar, Kuscak, Ben Foster, Shay Given

    Defenders
Gary Neville, Wes Brown, Vidic, Ferdinand, Da Silvas, Jonny Evans, JOS, Micah, Zabaleta, Onuha, Dunne, Toure, Ben Haim, Bridge

    Midfielders

Gareth Barry, Stephen Ireland, Shaun Wright Philips, Petrov, Johnson, De Jong, Kompany, Scholes, Giggs, Fletcher, Anderson, Carrick, Nani, Gibson, Hargreaves, Valencia, Park, Tosic

    Attackers
Teves, Bellamy, Adebayor, Rooney, Berbatov, Robinho, Benjani, Santa cruz, Macheda, Wellbeck, Owen

Also please indicate if you are a man united fan or a city fan Xavi6

    My Team
    .............................Given........................
    Zabaleta.........Ferdinand......Vidic........Evra.
    ..................Kompany.......Gareth Barry.......
    .............................Ireland.................
    Adebayor................Rooney...........Robinho

5 Subs: Teves, Berbatov, Carrick, Toure, Santa Cruz

Edit: I am very unsure of right back.

I think thats a really well balanced team. I'd question the inclusion of Adebayor on the right of the OP's front three and I see Kompany as more of a centre half then a midfielder. Brown gets in as a right back ahead of O' Shea purely because that back 4 was awesome as a unit in wining the CL in 2008.

Shay Given, Manchester Utd's defense, City's midfield plus Adebayor and Rooney up front.

Yeah I would have Brown in ahead of Zabaleta but because he's been out of action for most of the past 10 months I thought he had to be left out

is this worth a revisit at this point in the season?

interesting that perhaps (perhaps) the best defender was not picked above and moved to Villa

Certainly any hope of a City defender getting in has disappeared fast.

Stephen Ireland's stock seems to have slipped quite a bit since the way he was hyped in the Summer.

While Fletcher's has undoubtedly risen even more.

You couldn't leave Rooney out after the season hes having.

Adebayor is a strange one, looked sensational up until his antics in teh Arsenal game and has been all at sea ever since..

Bellamy's another lad who most thought in the Summer wouldn't even make the City bench, but now would probably make it into an all Manchester team.

Robinho is looking more and more like an overpriced luxury as the weeks pass.

Honestly don't know why I had Nani in there in the first place. Musta been drunk when I posted it :pac:

How can people be picking Robinho over Bellamy considering their respective contributions to City's season so far. If I was a City fan I know which one I'd want in my team.

This is what I'd go for:

    .......................Given

    O'Shea......Vidic........Evans.......Evra

    ..........De Jong.........Fletcher

    ..Tevez.......Giggs...........Bellamy

    ...................Rooney

Four of the back five picks itself for me with the second centre half slot up for grabs. But I think people forget how well Evans was playing before he got injured so he gets in there for me.

I think Fletcher and De Jong have been two of the most consistently impressive players in the premiership this season so, even if it is a bit defensive, they both deserve their shot.

Bellamy has been a revelation so he's almost the first name on the team shot tbh - finally playing how we all know he can on a consistent basis. Giggs is having another stormer and if he was allowed to sit in behind Rooney with two holding midfielders behind him, I think he could cause all sorts of trouble!

For the right attacking mid I honestly couldn't pick between Tevez and Valencia right now. Over the course of the season so far, it's be Valencia but, seeing as it's quite an attacking role with a solid right back behind him, I'll go with Tevez for now.

Rooney also gets on the team without question.

Give me that 11 fully fit and I'd be happy to take on anyone.

I don't know why people are ignoring Evans. IMO he's probably been United's best CB so far this year due to all the injuries.
