I have a good selection of clubs in Dublin(Chupasart being the most likely candidate), stopping the booze for a while and stopping the takeaway foods and crap. Im 23, 5,11 and 14st an absolute beginner, basically been wanting to do martial arts for ages now, havin researched it I think Thai Boxing is for me, problem is I have let myself go over the last year due to work etc, have any of you more experienced thai boxers started from the bottom in my situation and is my poor fitness levels goin to be a problem? Maybe I need a month in the gym first? I am also interested in the competition aspect... any advice appreciated!

Get down to a club then and get stuck in then. Do it this week. Forget the gym.

    Start Monday

Good luck and it you can battle through the first few weeks then it will get easier.

sounds like the exact situation I was in a couple of months ago, complete beginner. Started thai in bridgstone, and may start team ryno's new classes soon (as I live in D 13 and its much closer)
I started the classes and have felt great ever since, totally worth it, and very achievable with a little hard work. Best of luck mate
Stck around and let us know how you get on!
