Travelling from Cork to Cologne on a budget??

Does anyone know of the cheapest/easiest way to travel to Cologne from Cork. I can see several ways of getting there (ie: flying to Frankfurt/Dusseldorf or direct to Cologne from Dublin) however I'd rather not have to fly from Dublin or take up a whole day getting there from Cork??

Ideally I'd like to fly direct from Cork City to somewhere and then get a train from there to Cologne but that's not going happen, so direct from Dublin is my next bet however most flights are in the morning and I don't want to stay the night in Dublin.

Ryanair to Lgw, then Easyjet to Koln
Aerlingus/Klm to Ams, then 3h train to Koln

I'd rather just have the one flight as I'm only going for a few days...does that train go directly from Schiphol Airport to Koln??
