place to live in/near renmore area

    hey, im moving to galway in sept and was just wondering about two different areas,if anyone has any views.Merlin Park..has anyone ever stayed there,what did they think..and the other is the area of Ballybrit,briarhill?would anyone have any ideas on what this area is like. I want to be close to the dublin road but also within a short distance of the city centre..

    I lived in Ballybrit for three years.
    Was a good 15-20 minute walk or just a few minutes on the rother

    Not a fan!
    Now I went through Castlepark every single day at all hours and in the dark and never a bother.
    But for all the warnings I got you never know what might have happened.
    And this was before they built housing where the halting side was on Hillside. That's quite a few years ago now

    But the travelers weren't the problem, it was the locals.

    Go to Remore OP.
    Gleann Rua might be a good option. Nice houses, it's only a five minute walk to GMIT.
    Nice estate, I lived there too and many friends did too
