    Hello folks,
I'm heading down to Cork city today for 2 nights and staying in the city centre. I'm looking for a good pub with a bit of music on. Also any sugestions on a few things to do in Cork city and the county?
    Thanks in advance.

The heritage centre in Cobh is well worth a visit if you are into history. Lots of interesting material on 19th century emigration and the Titanic. It is a bit of a downer, though. Fota House gardens are nice if the weather is good.

For music, have a look at http://www.corkgigs.com/ to see if anything catches your fancy. There are sometimes gigs in the Sirius Arts Centre in Cobh, which is a pretty unusual venue.

Thanks for the reply lostinsuperfunk, cobh was lovely there was a big cruise ship just in (independence of the sea) so there was lots going on. fota was great (wet though), its nice to walk around with kangaroos. also for anyone else i'd recommend kinsale for some nice fish & chips :)

The Old Oak on Oliver Pluncket Street have a band every Sunday nite - worth a look
