Finding New Things to Watch...

Hi, as the title suggests when I use Last.fm I can find new music that I will probably like, are there any such sites for Movies or TV Shows?

Sites that are typically based on the premise that if person A likes Movies 1,2 and person B likes Movie 1, then there is a chance that person B might also like movie 2, etc (a.k.a. collaborative filtering).

I'm sure some good ones exist, but I never came across them.

I am desperately looking for a new TV series to start watching or any good movies. Sci-Fi is always a plus, for me anyway.

IMDB has that at the end of each page, not sure about a Last.fm-type site though

Would ye not just go to HMV or wherever and browse DVDs?

I usually just browse DVD's on amazon and then look at the reviews for the ones i havn't seen on IMDb and see if any tickle my fancy :)

Not too sure if there's any sites like Lastfm for films out there tbh, you could always try this site. http://www.watch-movies-links.net/

It could be illegal now that I think of it .. oh my.

Yeah browsing HMV doesn't really do that. Amazon on the otherhand does employ collaborative filtering, I will use that instead. I was looking for something a bit more preference than business focused, but hey it appears there is a niche on the web for a new app.

/waits for someone to burst in to my cave with a torch

    Cheers for the tips ;)
