    Several threads on this already. Pre 08 it's taxed as a 1.8, post 08 it's co2 based, and it's a big polluter.

taxed as 1.7, some people with rx7's have challenged it and got it down to be taxed as 1.3 so i presume you could try this with the 8.

231 bhp version is what you want, rear wheel drive, a dream to drive but twitchy at the back in the wet, they look stunning and come loaded.

Your mate hasn't a clue about cars

I read somewhere that you shouldnt turn off the engine when its cold after a short run, until the temp gauge starts to move up a bit.

check reviews on www.parkers.co.uk and www.honestjohn.co.uk

Yeh, it floods the engine, not something major, definitely not a deal breaker when it comes to owning one http://www.irishrotary.com has good info and Rx8 owners willing to give there views and help anyone thinking of an Rx8

Thats only part of the problem. They might have fixed it with the RX8, but the problem is that fuel sits in there and eats away at the apex seals.....meaning an early rebuild. So avoid runs where the engine doesnt get up to temp.

yeah I have been advised you need to let it heat up before u knock it off other wise u will end up on a tow truck,,, that seams the only downside for me petrol and oil is not an issue
