Beta Patch 1.16 details

    BI released details of the next patch and are making the beta publically available, which is nice.

    Changelog is here.

    Highlights for me that I noticed (there are absolutely dozens of fixes):
    Improved airplane turn dynamics simulation (including improved rudder simulation)

    BattlEye anti-cheating system

    AI bridge pathfinding much improved (as in "Elite Fighting Force, this is not the time for a swim; I care not if the water is lovely and intend not entering said pond"

    ArmA Warfare
    Southern Sahrani
    Desert Marines
    Woodland Army soldiers

    Fixed: leader, AI tanks subordinate to a player sometimes did not open fire against some enemy tanks

    Fixed: Improved airplane turn dynamics, including improved rudder dynamics model and fixed auto coordination.

    Wow, some amount of fixes, hopefully they'll eventually get to all those needed in Arma 2 but this is a good sign that they've still got an interest in fixing and improving the first. Just for a comparrison, Crytek stopped all work on patches for Crysis when they started work on Warhead

    The 1.16 beta patch for arma 1? That was released ages ago, I was playing arma 1 just before I bought arma 2 and thats the patch we were using. :confused:


    Max you sure you wernt thinking this was for arma 2? :P

    That was a Steam hotfix, there's no new patch for Arma2 yet. 1.04 is in the works but a while off yet. Here's a statement posted on their forum 2 days ago, the editing tools suite has already been released. Hopefully the linux dedicated server client won't be far off.
