    Hi,

I am looking at setting up an account with a courier as An Post charge about €7 for Registered Post for the packets I sent.

Was in touch with Fastway & Nightline but was wondering your views.

Would be sending about 10 a week but the amount is constantly growing and it is very uneven. For example on Monday I have 12 to ship.

Also, I am 16 not sure if that would be an issue but I think it scared of one courier so far! I am willing to prepay for labels etc. So its really no risk to them.

    Thanks!

I've been using Fastways for about a year- no probs, good service.
There has been about three different guys operating the franchise in that time though. Whatever that tells ya.

I think about €10.50 a parcel, I bought a book of 20 "tickets" from the rep and stick 'em on the package. I think you get better rates the more you ship.
€10.50 is good value for the 32 counties IMHO

    Ok thanks :)

Did you have to have a meeting with the rep? What did that consist of or was it just give us your money heres you labels sort of thing?

I operate a nationwide delivery business and can beat those rates. If anyone is interested drop me a PM.

GLS are one of the best options around i feel.
We joined them in April and refuse to use anyone else.
I also export a fair bit and their prices to the UK are brilliant.

I think it was a bit over 5.00 euro for the Republic and 8.60 for Northern Ireland - up to 50kg's

Have you had any problems with them? I have heard some very bad reviews.

Also, Has anyone had any experience with prepaid registered post labels. Is this possible?

No i have nothing bad to say about them... 100% happy customer.
They deliver our goods ON TIME to any destination in Europe... within 72 hours for Sweden, Denmark etc...
Fair prices - i mean considering some other couriers would charge us 65.00 or so (euro) minimum to go to the UK!! Now were looking at 13.00 to the UK... MAXIMUM 22.00 for 50kg's!

I would recommend them for sure.

    Good luck!

I have opened an account with fastway and my first impressions are very positive.

However I was wondering is there a reccommeneded minumum size for parcels. I have an iPod Nano to send and in a jiffey bags its very small. Should I bulk up the packet? I just don't want it to get 'lost'

you should be using the fastway satchel service - €4.95 per satchel + vat. Put the item into a jiffy bag and then into the fastway satchel

The majority of my parcels wont fit in the satchel. Its just an once off small one.
