My wife and I are returning to study full-time because there is no work in this country.

What social welfare benefits (or any benefits) can we claim to help us with maintenance during our full-time study years?

    Thanks for your help.

Are you or your wife currently on a social welfare payment?

    No. Not in southern Ireland.

BUT, we have just moved to southern Ireland from Northern Ireland (UK) to be closer to our college to combat travel issues for the coming terms of study.

Like I said before, because work is in sever shortage in the entire country, we decided to study again to improve our chances of future employment.

Just before I moved down recently, I was receiving 'Jobseekers' benefit in Northern Ireland after losing my job.

My wife has just been offered part-time work already down here - which is great, but, I MUST enquire of available funds from the Irish state to help us live in the VERY expensive country.

PS. I hold an Irish passport and live PPS number.

    Thanks for your help.
