I have the same gun and I usually charge the battery for about 4 hours

Divide the output of the charger (usually 450mah) into the capacity of the battery, ie: battery 1100mah divided by 450mah = 2.44 hours, so charge it for around 2 and a half hours.

Well, straight off the charge it'll last between 3000-6000 rounds. Not sure how accurate that is, havnt used a small type battery in a while. Also batteries usually lose their charge over weeks of their own accord

Didn't we just do this the other day? Don't charge your batt for 4 hours.

Erm, 3000-6000 rounds from a 1100mah stock china battery? Your economy is astounding...

As for loosing charge over a week... mm, I've had a 1500 mah mini in my tavor for about 3 weeks, and it still fires perfectly (i hadnt got to use it at the game i charged it for)

rough rule of thumb: one mah = 1 bb is what I found. Using a decent brand 8.4 large 3000mah at my first skirmish back in the day (lol) i remember going through a bag of excel (3300 bbs) just about, but by the end boy did it sound ill...

Battery charging is easy as people have said, sometimes an overcharge may not harm it , sometimes it may, hell I've left batteries cooking overnight in the past by accident, and some have lived, otheres have been consigned to the scrap heap. Best bet for all beginers using stock batteries, is visit component shop.... (not sure of the web addy, google the name)... they sell 1500 mah minis for £12 a pop and do good business with Ireland. Large batteries too... deans connectors, wire, tamiyas, all sorts of fun stuff like that... thier 18gu wire is sadistic in a tompson I renovasted for a friend... boy did that thing juice...

That's annother point... your performance isnt as battery linked as you belive. One can get 9.6 performance out of a gun with an 8.4 by getting better (bigger capacity high flow) wiring, and switching from tamiya connectors to deans... its all about smoothest route of flow and least resistance in electronics.... your gun will love you for it... less trigger lag, higher rate of fire, better efficiency out of your batteries.

Well Ive gotten close to 10000 rounds on a single charge with a 3300mah 9.6v battery, and around 3000 rounds with a 1250mah 8.4v battery.

5 hours is usually the normal battery charge across the board.
You can go into the mathematics of it, but if your using a clone charger and battery, or a clone charger with a normal battery, your looking at 5 hours for a charge, from the point of it being on low capacity to full charge.

FIrekitten has a good point. Rewiring to heavier gauge, lower resistance wiring, soldering all connections one can properly with high quality solder, using more efficient connectors, and hell, even meking gold plated trigger contacts are all EXCELLENT ways to get better performance out of your AEG, and its fairly cheap and easy too! A trip to Maplins and a bit of ingenuity will help your AEG no end. Once I get my Steyr AUG I plan on rewiring the whole thing with MOSFET and all that, higher capacity LiPo batteries, and maybe even a Variable Resistor to control fire rate on a new motor I may well stick in. OT but I used to build small Gauss/Coil guns for fun and it was there that I learned a LOT about resistance and such - a few wires blew up due to high resistance and such.

I wouldnt reccomend buyinf wire from maplins, its not the best in terms of quality. Id sooner buy from radionics. you'll get some good quality silicone insulated 16awg there for little money. deans connectos too are a huge improvment over the standards ones, although you'll have to fit them to all your battery's too and make a charger adapter.

I left mine overnight once, nothing happened to it. ;)
