work during college?

    im hopefully starting in nuig next month doing commerce and french and was wondering what jobs are available to students during semester?? part time around campus or in city or has this recession meant part time jobs are very hard to come by???
    any suggestions as to where i should apply or drop in a CV???

    Also, don't work during college unless you have to.

    Jobs are very hard to come by in Galway at the moment, especially for students with other commitments, like college work. Jobs on campus are usually for people working full time, or for postgrads (like part time work in the library). There's a few shops near campus (I work in one, and I get to meet all the lovely students on a daily basis :eek:), but unless you've a really good CV, don't bother trying. There's very few jobs, and if you manage to get one, you'll probably end up with the graveyard shift. That said, best of luck with it!

    I'd say work if you can during college! You'r not going to be doing college work on the weekend unless your taking your course way to seriously. I would avoid working working during the week if possible and try to keep it below 18 hours a week if possible. Truth is though, it's going to be very hard finding a job so good luck!
