You in the wrong forum, head on over to mobile & pda...

    Few questions..

Will you be using this phone only in the UK?
Who will you be calling? uk or ireland?

Mostly just going to phoning other uk mobiles and maybe a few landlines. wont be calling ireland all that regularly-maybe once a week.

Your best bet is to browse through all of the UK network websites.
You've Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile, Orange, Virgin, Tesco and 3 and a few others to choose from. Find out the people you'll be calling most and see what network they're on. One thing is for sure though and that's competition is far greater over there - you'll probably be sick when you see what they get over there compared to what we get over here for the same price :(

Can this be done along the lines of what happens in Ireland ie insert a 5 after the 08x and it goes directly to mobile: the carrier is T-Mobile.
    As always here: Thanks.

Looks like it cant as per this link

Changed question to match answer as it is useful to know that it cant be done
