Soldier BF going away

Hi all, just wondering if someone can advise me on something.

As the title suggest my bf is a soldier, he is going off on a tour of duty soon and I am a little worried. Not about his safety I might add, he's been away a couple of times before we were together and he's assured me that anything happening is pretty much unheard of. In Fact he says that the only irish soldiers that were killed away were killed in a car crash that could just as easily have happened here.

So here's the thing. A couple of his mates were over the other night and we were all chatting the conversation got around to work and they were talking about one of the female soldiers who'd "gotten around" half the camp on a previous tour and another guy that had left his wife after going off with one of the females soldiers while they were away. They were sort of making a joke out of it and I got the impression that none of them had been with this girl (they were calling her a skank).

TBH it honest as stupid as it is in this day and age, it had never even occurred to me that women would be there with them. Normally I trust my bf, but it really got me thinking.

If a guy is away for 6 months without seeing me (will he he even remember me), in a foreign country, with no tv or entertainment, nothing to do most of the time, without sex... and some girl offers it to him on a plate

Sounds like boytalk. Idiotic and most often perfectly untrue.

So why do you not trust him now? Has he given you any reason to suspect he could cheat? Or is it just because some lads thought to indulge in postpubertarian dicktalk?

... you're being unfair on him.

Contrary to what is often reported, many men have developed a cerebrum to accompany the cerebellar. In other words, we do not simply act on our dicks.

So assuming that you picked him for relationship-critical reasons (i.e. character, trustworthiness, ...), and not just passion, calm down. He loves you, of course he will remember you, and he'll be faithful to you.

<Maybe I am being paranoid and unfair. It's hard not to worry when you won't see someone for so long.

He'll be back twice in the 6 months no??

Dont worry about it, you couldnt possibly overreact any more! i was away for 6 months and there was a couple of "skanks" there with us and myself and the lads that were in relationships never even thought about getting with them!

You need to grow up a bit i think!

    hi,
My boyfriend's in the navy, some of them fool around in every port and some don't.
It all comes down to do you trust your man?

My guess is he'll spend most of his time away wishing he was home with you and they'll have plenty of contact so he won't be forgetting you anytime soon.

Andif it makes you feel beter there isn't a girl in the world that could make the badly cut uniforms look good ;)

No I'm not sure of how it works (he did explain but think I was cooking dinner and went in one ear and out the other). It's actually only about 5 months but no he won't have leave to come home during that time.

Were you away with the army King Stew?
