Peak frequencies on Kildare line

    Hi all,

My wife may be transferred from working in the city centre to Parkwest in the next 12 months and the transport choices from where we live (Lusk) are not the greatest. The best option would be train to Connolly, Luas to Heuston and train onwards to Park West but the frequency is appalling at this current time.

However, knowing that the Kildare Rail project will be completed (all going well) in spring 2010, can anybody give me a firm idea of what the inital peak frequencies will be once the project has been completed? I've seen 4 per hour in the peak times on the Irish Rail site but will that be the frequency from the very beginning?

She could also get the train to Connolly and then the 151 bus from the Docklands station to the Nangor Road, followed by a 10-15 minute walk to Park West, depending on where she would be located. This bus is a high frequency service with a bus lane for much of the route.

Alternatively there is the 79A from Aston Quay but this service is twice an hour at best as it shares with the 79 which does not go to Park West.

All of us in Park West await the announcement of a higher frequency train timetable with bated breath. Currently very few trains stop at the station.

Yeah, we had researched all the transport options but the appeal of a 30 minute train journey and a 50 minute bus journey wouldn't appeal to her and I don't blame her.
