    Hey folks,

here some updates on the Ride4Life cycle event in Killarney on Saturday, August 22nd in tandem with the 2nd stage of the Tour of Ireland:
    • We now have a fab Giant Defy 4 road bike to raffle among the participants.
    • The closing date to raise sponsorship funds has been extended to November 30th so now you can sign up for just €25 and get the remaining funds together afterwards.
    • We have riders from all over Ireland, England and amazingly 2 from South Africa 1 from the US.
    • Lance Armstrong sent us a video to promote the event and inviting people to take part - see http://www.ride4life.ie/?p=241
    • There has been some confusion over the starting time, it is 9.00am.
Full event and registration is at http://www.ride4life.ie

Hope to see you there, Paul

I'd like the free bike :)
So I just have to get 25 quid and I can get a free bike - sounds bargain.
Oh I see. It's not a free bike, it's a raffle for a bike. Ah. That's not what it say on the tintle

And what's to stop people just giving in the 25quid, doing the event and never sending in anything else? Just saying.

What's to stop people doing that? Nothing at all, if that's how one is inclined! That's the risk all sponsored events take. Of course, we expect very few people would be like that. :)

But, obviously then you wouldn't be in the running for the bike. You'll have to raise the minimum amount (€75 for the 44km and €150 for the 85km) to have a chance of winning the bike. Since we have extended the closing date for raising the funds we will wait until then to award the bike. The bike will go to the best fundraiser, so you have until November 30th. Sorry for the change, some crossed wires at our end.
