I used to have a copy of this but it went missing somewhere along the line. Some interesting documentaries on leading up to it also.

    Tomorrow, 00:30 on BBC Four

Twenty years ago, four Manchester musicians stepped out onto the stage of the Blackpool Empress Ballroom for what would become a legendary gig. Three months earlier in May 1989 Ian Brown, John Squire, Gary 'Mani' Mounfield and Alan 'Reni' Wren released their eponymous debut album which has gone on to achieve countless accolades and awards and is regularly cited as one of the most important albums of all time.

The Blackpool concert, shown on TV for the first time, includes many of the songs from the seminal album, including I Wanna Be Adored, She Bangs the Drums, Waterfall and the epic I Am the Resurrection.

I have it on DVD and it's bloody epic. I've seen Brown live and I can only imagine what it would have been like to see the Roses at their height.

Ah ****, I only have BBC4 in 'Other Channels' on Sky so I don't think I can record it and I won't be around.

I dunno, it was a good setlist, but aside from the superlative I Am The REsurrection I'm not convinced it really came to life.

What a great gig on the stone roses DVD and you can see what a great band the Stone Roses are from this gig alone.
