Im currently getting tax on an emergency basis for my 2nd job.

I dont want to split tax credits evenly because i only work my 2nd job occasionly whereas my first job is worked weekly. But i still get killed on tax when i do get paid for my 2nd job.

What should i do? Advice appriecated.

    Hi

    1) Ask to get the employer's PAYE number of your second job.

    2) Ring revenue PAYE section. Give them your PPS number and ask to issue a nil tax credit certificate for you to this employer.

    3) When it comes through make sure they put it up onto their wages system/programe and put you on ordinary tax status or on a "week one basis"

    Hope this helps

If i do all that, will that mean i'll be taxed at 20% for my second job or 41%?

That will depend on your personal circumstances and how much income you are earning in your first job and how much standard rate cut off you want to allocate to your second job.

    Thanks for your help.

Did exactly what you said. Rang revenue though and asked whats the best way to approach this, since i earn alot less for the year in the 2nd job. The girl on the phone said i had enough credits that she could easiler spread them out so i wouldnt be taxed on either job.
