    The leaving cert doesn't decide how you will do in the workplace or how good you will be at yor job.

    Who cares?

    You do the leaving cert and head off to college full of optimism about what you can accomplish - then life beats every ounce of joy out of you when lying in the gutter looking at the stars, genetics makes no odds.

    The number one reason is that we like to take up to a year off taking care of our babies and the second reason is that although girls do well in the leaving cert they tend to fall behind in college and when they reach the workplace. Men idea of success is often a good career so the can provide for their family whereas some women feel that success equates to finding a good husband etc etc.
