    Hi there.

    I have question.
If i bay a car that has no NCT but its scheduled for it in 2 months time, can i drive it without worry of being stoped, fined and getting those 5 penalty points, if i have a confirmation letter on me all the time?

Ring up every day or two and you might get a cancellation closer to now.
However, if the letter of the law is applied, one could get stopped and given a fine. However, the large fine and 5 penalty points is the maximum penalty so would be very rare. The vast majority of Gardai will be fine once you have the letter with you. I wouldn't worry about it.

i was stopped while i was awaiting my test... didnt have the confirmation letter but explained to the cop that i had a confirmation Txt... he asked if he could see it and sent me on my way once i showed the date and car reg on the txt.. as was mentioned tho.. some Pr%*k of a cop having a bad day may make a fuss.... make sure theres nothing obviously wrong with the car...

I would drive the car anyway (providing it seemed safe to do so blah blah).
Things being the way they are now with NCT the Garda is highkly likely to let you go, albeit that you've actually bought it without NCT and driving it anyway - they might say you should have waited.
Up to you really, we can offer opinions but it's your licence on the line.

As long as you have it booked in and you have the confirmation letter with you, you will be fine. Just carry the letter in the car all the time.
