    Bus Eireann is offering customers €2 intercity fares on its twitter site.

    Bus Eireann customers are in for a real 'tweet' this month, with the company offering €2 intercity fares.

    The operator has introduced the discounts to celebrate the launch of its Twitter site.

    Commuters will be able to avail of the one-way fares on Bus Eireann's Galway-Dublin and Cork-Galway routes.

    The €2 tickets for off-peak services can only be purchased on the company's Twitter site and clicking on the offer link.

    They are available on a limited number of seats and will run until August 31 next.

    The tickets can be purchased at twitter.com/ buseireanndeals.

    Travel Galway-Dublin or Cork-Galway for Just €2 with Bus Éireann Twitter Offer

    To celebrate the launch of its Twitter site (http://twitter.com/buseireanndeals), Bus Éireann has introduced an exclusive Twitter offer of a €2 single fare on its Galway-Dublin and Cork-Galway routes.

    The €2 tickets for off-peak services between Galway and Dublin, and Cork and Galway, can only be purchased by visiting Bus Eireann’s Twitter site and clicking on the offer link. The €2 special offer is available on a limited number of seats per service and will run until August 31st 2009.

    The €2 single fare applies to the following daily services –

    * Dublin-Galway (Route 20) - 10:00, 11.00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00
    * Galway-Dublin (Route 20) - 10:30, 11.30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30
    * Cork-Galway (Route 51) - 10:25, 11:25, 12:25, 13:25, 14:25, 15:25
    * Galway-Cork (Route 51) - 10:05, 11:05, 12.05, 13:05, 14:05, 15:05

    “Bus Éireann sees Twitter as another excellent way to communicate directly with customers and prospective customers and keep them informed of our latest offers and service information,” said Andrew McLindon, PR and Media Manager, Bus Éireann.

    Bus Éireann’s use of Twitter is another example of the company’s commitment to digital innovation. Bus Éireann led the way among European bus companies in providing on-line ticket sales for immediate use through its website (www.buseireann.ie) and will also shortly introduce its real-time passenger information system that will provide customers with up-to-the minute details on when buses will arrive and depart at individual stops across the country via their mobile phone and the Internet.
