    Shimano... Hollowtech II methinks

I can't budge it, defo turning it in the right direction. Do I just need to go to the gym more or is there a handy way to loosen it? I have very little upper body strength :o

    The cranks are completely off.

More leverage. what kind of tool are you using? Can you add an extension to it?

    One of these

I don't think I have anything that I could use as an extension. I'll have to get the old man to have a go.

A little WD40 and let it soak in won't hurt either.

some form of pipe that the tool will fit into without too much space would be ideal to get more torque....that or just eat 5 pizza's a day till you've some weight on ye and just jump on it :)

Dunno why I didn't think of that.

Just had 1 Dominos earlier... nearly there.
Don't have any old pipes lying around the house unfortunately.

WD40 applied, now we play the waiting game...

I hate removing bottom brackets as they tend not to wear out very much and end up getting well stuck after being screwed into the frame for years.

I have a length of a heavy metal pipe that can fit around the end of spanners and is usually necessary for providing the required leverage to remove bottom brackets. I'd also remove the seat post and liberally spray WD40 down the seat tube so the BB is covered in it. Leave soaking overnight for maximum penetration. Somebody once told me that a cola drink worked wonders but I haven't tried that one myself.

Use your teeth. It's bound to work.

I got my stuck one off yesterday after being shown a bit of a trick. Basically turn the bike up side down and rest it on the saddle and handlebars. Assuming its English threads, it'll require downwards pressure on the back wheel side to come off. You can push straight down or, as I did, use the lower wheel support bar to help pull the wrench down.

I tried one of these methods already but it didn't work. Anyone know a good dentist? ;)

It's been soaking in WD40 all night so will have a go this evening

HTFU and put some weight into it.... oh wait, you don't have any...

I could pop over this eve and sort it if you want (have plenty of weight), and fix your lockring at the same time?

Just get Laura to do it... she's stronger than you

One other way that was suggested is if you have vice, put the tool in the vice, then use the bike as the lever to twist the BB out.
