(sorry about the bad title, could not think of anything else!)

my boyfriend finally got offered a job today after being on the dole for months.

thing is tho, it's only 20 hours a week.

will be be able to claim a portion of his welfare? he'll actually be worse off working but we're both so happy that he is doing something now!

If he was working a five day week before he started claiming, he should be able to claim something. However, social welfare don't work on hours - its days - so if he works 4 hours a day, 5 days a week he won't be able to claim. But 20 hours over 3 days would be ok for claiming. he needs to go in and talk to them in the office and they'll be able to change his claim over.
