    I have a Trek 4500 Hardtail and my wifey has a 3900.

Great bikes, Nothing to worry about with them. I would only have one recommendation, the tyres fitted from new are HUGE and create too much drag on the roads. They are like motocross knoblies :( Mine were 1.9 inches in width.

I have a semi threaded set of tyres on mine now and they make a huge difference. Did over 30k on them last night, and my bike has over 1,500km on it, a mixture of road, and trails.
