ok I have an ipod with all my songs (which I want)
The i-tunes they are on was wiped from my computer
So i now have an I-pod with songs I want to keep but an empty I-tunes

My problem is that I want to add more songs on to my I-pod.. As i understand it, if i connect it up to an i tunes with 10 songs on it all my songs will be taken off my I-pod and just those 10 songs will be on my ipod, therefore losing all my songs

I apologise about my complicated explanation but if anybody has any ideas on how to get new songs on to my ipod without losing all my songs I'd really appreciate it

    Thanks:)

Can you not just put the music back into itunes?

most of the CDs were borrowed or songs downloaded through torrents(which also got wiped)
would take way too long, was just wondering if there was a more simple solution:confused:

All the music is in a hidden folder on the ipod. You could copy and paste the music folder back onto the computer.

You just have to go into "My Computer" and go to your ipod. Make sure you have "show all files" selected and it'll show a folder called IPOD CONTROL. In there will be the music folder. I'd recommend you copy that to your computer.

To add individual files without syncing you would probably have to avoid itunes and get winamp with a plug-in or something.

there's a manually manage music and videos option

after three pcs my ipod has more music on it than my current itunes, but this way, i choose what to add to my ipod, it doesn't sync automatically

Thats a lot easier than my idea!

It's probably still a good idea to back up the music though.
