Just want to get an idea of which type of golf course is more preferred. I spend the majority of my golfing time on woodland/parkland golf courses (not by choice but due to my location) and when watching golf on TV, it’s generally being played on a woodland/parkland course. However, I infinitely prefer links golf. There is just something about it. I know it’s harder, you lose more balls, the bunkers are a b**** and if the wind is too strong sometimes you just can't play. But for some reason it just feels like proper golf to me. Even watching golf, I much prefer watching links. I prefer watching The Open to The Masters. I prefer the more dullish real look of The Open to the bright green colourful Masters. Ya can't beat playing or watching golf on a links course when the sun is settin either, ya just can't imo. If I was forced to pick one style of course for the rest of my golfing days it would be links no questions asked. Which do ye prefer?

Links for me. There are also some great heathland courses, but very few in Ireland. They have brilliant ones in England.

Definitely Woodland/Parkland for me. I hit the ball quite high and unless there's only a little wind, really suffer on a Links course. Plus, although I admire the natural beauty of most Links courses, I love what designers have done to the best inland courses in this country.

I've not played much links courses, Ballybunion I have played a few times, amazing course, but a total beast when the wind blows.....like any links. I have nothing but admiration for pros who have the imagination to play shots that they wouldnt dare try on parkland courses.

So for me, obviously I'd rather play a parkland as I would lose less balls!!
But watchin on telly, I LOVE it when it gets windy at the Open and players are battling for pars and not birdies. :D So its links for me.

Added the Heathland option but I love em all :) Having to choose one over the other is like picking a favourite child...

I prefer links courses - just because I don't play them that often. However a great golf-course is just that.

Oh and it's generally who I'm with that makes a good round.
